"Trails Bend"
Ten years ago was the last time I set foot on the grounds of the Indiana Dunes State Park. I remember how quiet the trails
always were; so quiet that I once heard the sound of a Wood Thrush walking.
When I am in the woods I like to be silent and talk to the wildlife letting them know I am there to observe and get a few nice photos.
One Saturday afternoon on one of the trails I came around the corner and a deer was within 10 feet of me, it got scared and scampered
away. Deer are really fun to see in the wild. I had always wanted to do a painting or drawing of a buck with a nice set of antlers but had
never seen a wild buck with an awesome rack so for this drawing I did some research, made a sketch to my liking, and added it into the
scene with one of the big dunes in the background.
