"Taking It Easy"

Swans have been portrayed in paintings, sculpture, photography, and even classical music such as Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake." Swans are beautiful to see and their bright white plumage is striking as they glide through dark water in ponds or lakes.

One day while watching a swan swimming to and fro I noticed that it lowered its neck so that only the head was sticking out between its folded wings. I thought to myself even swans must get tired holding their heads up from time to time and smiled. Fascinated by that sight the painting had been born.
