One spring evening as I was driving on a quiet country road near home I slowed down and came to a stop to photograph some Red-winged Blackbirds when I heard an echoing cry behind me. I wasn't sure what was making the sound 'til I turned around and looked up the hill and saw the silhouette of a peacock standing on the roof of a large cage. The sun was setting in the distance behind the peacock and the sky was an eerie, fiery red. As the peacock's call echoed out over the farmland I began to create this painting in my heart and store the image away in my memory.

I love seeing the different color skies that appear on a daily basis. To recreate a piece of what God has created, and to be blessed with the ability to share with brushes, paint, and words the natural world I love so much is an honor which I am so grateful to God for!
