Lake Michigan in the fall and winter is always special. One particular pre-winter day I was treated to the sight of two Killdeer quickly dashing across the rocky shoreline.

What made this particular scene attractive enough for me to make a painting was the pebbly, winter season beach in the foreground. The combination of the brown pebbly shore, the white rolling waves, deep blue water, and two scampering Killdeer was just beautiful, and I knew that combination would make for a gorgeous work of art.

The title reflects my belief that all creatures, plants, etc. are one with our Maker and when two creatures form a special union the two become as one.
