In the presence of Lake Michigan I hear the waves, I hear the seagulls cry and my heart just opens with delight. When I actually see the water and the gulls I know that I am in the presence of our Creator and I am awestruck.

One afternoon while bird watching at Whihala Beach I had been watching the gulls through my binoculars and camera lens and thought how wonderful the day would be if a gull landed nearby so I could study it's form and colors when suddenly a radiant gull landed on a concrete pedestal right in front of me. This awesome event inspired this work of art.
