"Winter Elegance"

My favorite season is winter. I love going to the beach in the winter because it is very quiet. The scarcity of people and lack of mosquitoes, flies, bees, wasps and other insects make for even greater peace and tranquilty.

I love to watch gulls soar and turn at different speeds, and I like hearing the cries as they fly. I feel at one with the water, rocks, sky, earth, and birds. Nature is where I feel most secure, peaceful, and happy.

On one of my winter excursions to Whihala Beach located in Whiting, Indiana, I came upon the magnificent ice sculptures that Lake Michigan had created. Waves had crashed and frozen over the rock formations that form a breakwater. I had never seen such a beautiful winter sight. Then I noticed a flock of gulls huddled together in front of the icy rock formations. The drawing painting had just been born in my mind.

The title reflects the beauty of the icy rock formations. There is no better sculptor than God.
